Joanne!
I'm glad the flying creatures book is getting used! Fabulous! I'm in no hurry to get it back. ; )
I'd not heard of The Curiosity Files until you posted. I downloaded it since it was free and seemed like it could be an interesting fit for us in the next couple of years. I browsed through the rogue waves one last night and I like the look of it. A bit more seat work than I would like so I won't use it for a group but I think my kids would enjoy it as an independent study type of thing. I like how it deals with the uncommon and unusual aspects of creation and links Biblical themes, music, art, hands-on, etc. Any reviews I found seemed positive but I don't always put a lot of stock in reviews that were done because a sample to review was given. I think I'll print and bind our copies to go on the shelf.
Thanks again!
Wendy
I have not and truthfully I haven't researched it much either. I do have a child in grade 6 who loves reading (non fiction as much as fiction) and this looks like it would be right up her ally. I plan to offer this to her as an independent reading activity when she is finished with the Flying Creatures book you lent us. I was going to return it to you and when I told her this she started reading / re reading sections again. :) Do you have any thoughts on The Curiosity Files? Have you researched it or had experience with it?
