If people are looking for a great supplemental resource for composer studies, I highly recommend Spiritual Lives of the Great Composers by Patrick Kavanaugh.
We have just finished studying Handel and used a variety of resources (such as Opal Wheeler's book "At the Court of Kings"; Hallelujah Handel - Classical Kids audio drama; and a variety of selections of his music). It was nice to use Kavanaugh's book to definitely determine whether or not Handel was a believer and learn more about his spiritual life.
