I`m not sure if the above link will work because I was logged in, but there are free downloads as part of the IEW celebration that they are almost at 10,000 likes on face book. I would recommend if you enjoy Andrew Pudewa`s wisdom, that you `like` Institute for Excellence in Writing on face book. They had a free grammar mp3 available a few weeks ago and other info as well from time to time. If you`re not new to IEW then I suspect you may already have these downloads, but if you haven`t heard `The Four Language Arts`I would highly recommend it. You do not need to be a user of IEW language Arts program to learn from his talks. If you do use IEW curriculum, then you would be interested in their new app which contains all the word lists for dress ups etc.
If you are looking for a change in your 'how do I teach my kid to write' curriculum, I would highly recommend that you take a look at them. Sit down with someone who has some of their resources and can explain them to you. We started our girls who were in grade 4&5 at SWI-A and it was a good fit (a challenge but not too hard for them or me and loads of learning for all of us). Our gr 3 boy started with All Things Fun and Fascinating (AFF) which was a good fit, but without the teaching DVDs of TWSS or SWI, the AFF with our son would have been a failure because I needed to learn from the DVDs. They do have a bible curriculum. I do not have anything to compare them to, but I wouldn't change if you paid me. They also have a cool independednt spelling program called "Phonetic Zoo" which I like. Kids listen to CDs and then check it themselves. The talk "Spelling and the Brain" explained the theory behind they method of teaching and totally blew me away.
