Joanne! My kids aren't quite at the grammar stage but your query prompted a resource I have kept in mind for when we do get there. http://www.blog.montessoriforeveryone.com/grammar-materials.html Wendy

Our older children have just moved from public education to homeschooling (gr 6, 5, 3).  They are having trouble keeping straight the difference between nouns and verbs and I am using cirriculum which asks them to use adjectives and adverbs etc.  I am wanting to make a small wall poster which will help them remember which is which.  Here's what I was thinking, please add, edit and comment.  I would like it to be simple & easily understood.  I am trying to decide between listing what question is answered, or describing it, or maybe both.  Please add other parts of speech as well (I believe prepositions will come up soon.)

Noun - person, place, thing

Who? What?

Verb - action word.

What did they do?

"I ____"

Adjective - describes a noun

What kind?

Adverb - makes a verb action more detailed

How?

often an -ly word.
